Technical, Professional, and Academic Excellence

History

Meridian Technical Charter High School (MTCHS) is located in Meridian, ID, and serves grades 9-12 students in the West Ada School District. MTCHS offers an environment rich in technology, giving students experience using technical applications in school and in the workplace, while still providing a comprehensive and rigorous academic education. MTCHS provides all students over 1,000 hours of technical training in the areas of computer, electronic, media, networking, software, and web technologies. These technical areas provide the foundations to computer-related engineering fields. Additionally, all students receive specific training in personal and workplace skills, preparing them to be a productive member of the local and global communities. MTCHS requires seniors to complete a 280 hour internship with Treasure Valley businesses in one of these technical areas. We offer classes for college credits and industry certifications.

Since 1999 MTCHS has worked closely with industry partners throughout the Treasure Valley to address the talent pipeline in technical-related fields. MTCHS alumni are not only employed in technical positions but are local entrepreneurs, employers, and business leaders. As a Career Technical Center, MTCHS provides the unique experiences that develop both the hard and soft skills to be career and college ready. This enables students to graduate high school, connect to local industry/mentors, start their career immediately and/or reduce time and cost of post-secondary training.
